【摘要】:DOEOrder5480.11andANSIN13.30requirethatinternaldoseassessmentsbemadeaspartofthebioassayprogramfornuclearfacilityworkers.Forindirectbioassayofuraniumworkers,theuraniumisotopesmustbemeasuredalongwiththetotaluraniuminurinesamples.TheRMDAforeachuraniumisotopeis0.1pCi/L.Thismethodisapplicableformeasuring235Uand238UattheRMDA.Becauseofextremelylowmassconcentration(becauseofthehighspecificactivity),234Ucannotbemeasuredwithoutadditionalsamplepreconcentration.Note28212;Columnchromatographyseparationsandconcentrationof234Uusingmanualorflow-injectionpreconcentrationfollowedbyICP-MSisotopicdeterminationaredescribedinTestMethodsC1310andC1345.Thesemethodsfocusonenvironmentalsoilsampleanalysis,butwithsomedevelopment,maybeapplicabletodigestedurinesamples.The234Uconcentrationcanbecalculatedbasedonanenrichmentgradientforworkersinuraniumenrichmentplants,andinternaldoseassessmentscanbemade.Note38212;UseofhighresolutionICP-MSmayalsobeusedtoobtainlowerdetectionlimits.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheconcentrationofuranium-235anduranium-238inurineusingInductivelyCoupledPlasma-MassSpectrometry.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtosupporturaniumfacilitybioassayprograms.1.2Thismethoddetectionlimitsfor235Uand238Uare6ng/L.TomeettherequirementsofANSIN13.30,theminimumdetectableactivity(MDA)ofeachradionuclidemeasuredmustbeatleast0.1pCi/L(0.0037Bq/L).TheMDAtranslatesto47ng/Lfor235Uand300ng/Lfor238U.Uraniumx2013;234cannotbedeterminedattheMDAwiththistestmethodbecauseofitslowmassconcentrationlevelequivalentto0.1pCi/L.1.3Thedigestionandanionseparationofurinemaynotbenecessarywhenuraniumconcentrationsofmorethan100ng/Larepresent.1.4Units8212;ThevaluesstatedinpicoCurieperliterunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;Warning:TheICP-MSisasourceofintenseultravioletradiationfromtheradiofrequencyinducedplasma.ProtectionfromradiofrequencyradiationandUVradiationisprovidedbytheinstrumentundernormaloperation.
