【摘要】:1.1Thispracticeisintendedtodefinetheexposureconditionsfortestingtheresistanceofplasticstooxidationorotherdegradationwhenexposedsolelytohotairforextendedperiodsoftime.Onlytheprocedureforheatexposureisspecified,notthetestmethodorspecimen.Theeffectofheatonanyparticularpropertymaybedeterminedbyselectionoftheappropriatetestmethodandspecimen.1.2Thispracticeshouldbeusedasaguidetocomparethermalagingcharacteristicsofmaterialsasmeasuredbythechangeinsomepropertyofinterest.Thispracticerecommendsproceduresforcomparingthethermalagingcharacteristicsofmaterialsatasingletemperature.Recommendedproceduresfordeterminingthethermalagingcharacteristicsofamaterialataseriesoftemperaturesforthepurposeofestimatingtimetoadefinedpropertychangeatsomelowertemperaturearealsodescribed.1.3Thispracticedoesnotpredictthermalagingcharacteristicswhereinteractionsbetweenstress,environment,temperature,andtimecontrolfailureoccurs.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ISO-2578isconsideredtobetechnicallyequivalenttothispractice.
